SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Wegmans Pond Street location has now been vacant for nearly two weeks, but the store is inching closer to finding a business to replace it.

Wednesday was the deadline for proposals to be made for the building on Pond Street. Wegmans officials have not released any specifics about what offers it has received or if any grocery stores are looking at the site, but they say the information may be made available by the end of the week.

The grocer closed its doors at the end of last month citing declining business at that location as the reason.
