SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The sounds of jazz are coming to Syracuse this summer for the annual Jazz in the City concert series.
The community got a taste of what to expect during a press conference Thursday announcing the summer concerts.
The Blacklites R&B Show Band, who performed at the press conference, will kick off the concert series on August 2nd. Just a week later on the 9th, Brooklyn native Curtis Haywood will perform and finishing up the series on August 16th is Alex Torres and His Latin Orchestra.
Organizers say the concert series is unique because all three concerts are held in different locations around Syracuse.
"We're one of the few cities in the entire United States that sponsors an event like this. Instead of having the people come to the event, the event in Syracuse comes to the people," said Van Robinson, City of Syracuse Common Council President.
