LIVERPOOL, N.Y. -- National Grid has restored power to areas around a substation in Liverpool.

Power was lost to some residential and business customers shortly after midnight Friday morning. A National Grid Spokesperson says the outages were likely caused by the switching of power to various feeders following an equipment failure at the Hopkins Road substation.

Most power was restored by noon.
