It's known as one of the largest car shows in the country and it's rolling into the State Fairgrounds. The Syracuse Nationals features thousands of cars, plenty of entertainment, and a number of events this weekend. Our Brad Vivacqua reports.

ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- If you're into vintage cars and models of all kinds, the Syracuse Nationals is the place for you to be this weekend. Early Friday morning, hundreds of car owners drove into the Fairgrounds, looking to get their prime parking spot for the weekend.

Officials say through the weekend, up to 80,000 people may visit the Fairgrounds. This year's three-day event will include as many as 8,000 vehicles from hot rods and muscle cars to classic and customs. The vehicles included in the show were all made in 1980 or before.

This year, a few of the original stars from the 70s show “Dukes of Hazzard” will be signing autographs. Some other events include drag racing, tech seminars, demos, and fireworks. Still, the biggest attraction of the weekend is, of course, the unique cars.

"What's great about it is, you may find 100 ’55 Chevys at the show, but you won't find two alike. Because, everyone puts their own personality into their vehicle," said Robert O' Connor, Syracuse Nationals Director.

Event organizers estimate that this event helps bring in about $10 to $13 million each year to the Central New York economy.

Admission is $17 and kids are $8. The spectator gates will open at 8 a.m. every day through the weekend.
