FORT DRUM, N.Y. -- Current Miss USA Kristen Dalton wrapped up her visit to Fort Drum Thursday with a Thanksgiving Dinner with the troops and their families.
Dalton's been in town for a couple days touring the base and meeting everyone. She says it's her way of giving back and showing the country's support for the troops and the men and women of Fort Drum certainly appreciate the gesture.
"It really means a lot that there are people that are willing to come by like Miss USA and actually show their support for the troops and everything like that. It means a lot to people," said Spec. Jonathon Robertson, 1st Brigade Soldier.
"It definitely boosts the morale around here. Everybody's excited. We've been talking about it all week. Everyone from our 1st Sergeant to our commander all the way down to us privates," said Pvt. Justin Danowit, 1st Brigade Soldier.
Soldiers say this is definitely a Thanksgiving they won't forget.
