Peregrine falcons nest found in Utica
UTICA, N.Y. -- The M&T bank in Utica is home to a rare pair of falcons.
Wildlife experts discovered two endangered peregrine falcons nesting in a crevice of a bank in the city's downtown and they say the pair is caring for an egg. This is the first documented peregrine falcon nest in the city.
There are an estimated 50 active peregrine nests in the state and one of them is on the State Tower Building in downtown Syracuse. Those chicks, hatched earlier this spring, were banded so the state can keep track of their future travels.
