Police apprehend gunman on I-90; Suspect shot
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. --State Police have apprehended a man they said fired at a state trooper on Interstate 90 near Exit 9 in the Town of East Greenbush.
Police said around noon, a state trooper pulled over a taxicab with Connecticut license plates. That is when the passenger in the back seat started shooting. State and local police were called in for backup, and more shots were fired.

During the shootout, the gunman was hit. However, it is still not clear if he was shot by police, or if he shot himself. The suspect was rushed to Albany Medical Center, and his condition isn't known at this time.
Several other cars on the highway were hit by bullets, however no bystanders were injured.
I-90 remains closed between exits 9 and 10, in both directions while police continue their investigation.
