UTICA, N.Y. -- A man is being treated at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center after being hit by a truck in Utica. Crews responded to the intersection of Route 12 and Noyes Avenue just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators said a truck traveling southbound hit the pedestrian as he crossed the street.
The victim was taken to the hospital with broken bones and head injuries.
Investigators are still trying to figure out the exact details of the crash.
Sgt. Steve Hauck of the Utica Police Department said, “Unfortunately you have a pedestrian that was seriously struck so you can't interview him at this point. Sometimes that makes it a little difficult when you only have one side of the story. But fortunately, there were some witnesses, so we will be interviewing them to find out exactly the circumstances behind the accident.”
No tickets have been issued at this point.
