Former officer charged with stealing gun

ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A former Frankfort Village Police Officer has been arrested for allegedly stealing a gun that belonged to the Police Department.

Daniel Herrman, 39, is accused of possessing the unregistered and stolen .40 caliber Glock pistol.

Herrman has been charged with criminal possession of stolen property and Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Officials said he was released after posting bail.
