UNITED STATES -- The record jackpot just keeps growing. New York Lottery officials said the Mega Millions jackpot is now $640 million.

Friday night’s drawing will be the largest single jackpot in lottery history. The previous record Mega Millions jackpot was $390 million.

The largest Mega jackpot ever paid to a group of New Yorkers is $319 million.

The odds of winning the jackpot are one in about $175 million.
