ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Clinton teen is seriously injured in a one-car accident on Doolittle Road in the Town of Paris.

Officials said Melanie Suchy, 19, lost control of her car and hit a tree just before 8 o'clock Saturday night. Crews had to cut her out of the vehicle.

The Sheriff's Department said alcohol was a factor and Suchy has been charged with DWI and possession of marijuana, among other charges.

Suchy was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital where she was treated for a broken arm and leg and then transferred to Upstate Medical Center where she's being treated for other injuries.
