ONEIDA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A week after Daimler announced restructuring that will end production at the Orion bus plant in Oriskany, workers will have the chance to start preparing for possible layoffs.

Representatives from multiple Oneida County agencies and the State Department of Labor will be stationed at the Traffic Safety Building across from the plant beginning Wednesday. Staff will answer questions about benefits services available to employees. Help with computer skills and resume development will also be available.

"It's important, I think, to let them know that there are agencies there that are available to them, there are resources that are available to them to let them begin a transition process, if you will," said Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente Jr.

It's yet to be determined how often workforce officials will hold hours across from the Orion plant.
