HERKIMER COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Richfield Springs man is dead following a two vehicle crash in Herkimer County. State police said Steven Allen, 48, of Ilion was driving down State Route 28 Tuesday afternoon in the Town of Columbia when he crossed the center line and hit another vehicle head-on.

That car, driven by Conrad Lupardo, 70, went off the road and down a 130 foot embankment. Lupardo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Allen was taken to a Utica hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The crash is still under investigation.
