MARCY, N.Y. -- Four corrections officers are injured while escorting an inmate at the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy. According to the New York State Correctional Officers Benevolent Association, it happened when officers were admitting Thomas Legette to the Special Housing Unit following a fight with another inmate.
They said Legette kicked one of the officers in the stomach, than after a cool down period, he allegedly hit another officer in the face and nose.
Two other officers suffered minor injuries while restraining Legette.
Legette is currently serving a 3 to 6 year sentence for third-degree grand larceny. The Benevolent Association said he is being transferred to the Five Points Maximum Security Correctional Facility.
