BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The first annual Binghamton Blowout Block Party is set for Friday night. The event is being put on by the City of Binghamton and CIC 2020, a BU student organization.

The goal of the event is to let students know how important they are to Binghamton's economy and to expose them to business opportunities in the city.

"We're really emphasizing how the students are a key asset to this area and how, specifically, they can get involved and really contribute in the future," said Kathryn Fletcher, Director of CIC 2020.

The block party will be held on Court Street between State and Front streets between 4 and 9 p.m. Friday and will feature all kinds of food and entertainment.
