BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two and four-legged friends met up for a Bark Park Fundraiser at Chenango Valley State Park.

Despite some rain, people still showed up to conquer about three and a half miles of trails and obstacles. The race will benefit the Cheri A. Lindsey Bark Park.

Organizers hope they'll be able to add benches, a water fountain and landscaping with the proceeds. They said new people and dogs are always welcome at the park, but make sure your pet is well-mannered.

Amy Derkowski, event organizer said, “The park is a great place for dogs to socialize, however if you're unsure about your dog, read their temperament don't just let the dog off their leash, take precautions."

Organizers said they hoped to raise over $1,000.
