ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- One of the oldest festivals of its kind is underway in Rochester this weekend. The annual Lilac Festival is more than 100-years-old.

If the weather cooperates, organizers are hoping as many as 400,000 to 500,000 people will take part in the annual event, spending millions.

The annual Lilac Festival is the only 10-day free festival of its kind in North America. It features arts and crafts, music and entertainment, and more than 1,200 Lilac bushes at Highland Park in the city.

The 2012 Lilac Festival continues through next Sunday, May 20th.
