Recycling company announces expansion

TIOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A recycling company in Tioga County announced plans to build a new state-of-the-art facility. Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman in Owego will build a new $6 million new wire chopping plant in the village.

The plant will process copper, aluminum, and lead coated wire from its 11 feeder yards throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

The new facility will bring an additional 10 jobs to Owego, and will be the largest of its kind in the United States.
