CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Two people face charges and more arrests are pending after Cortland Police said they discovered two meth labs in the city. The first was discovered in an apartment on Lincoln Avenue on July 13.

Police responded to a complaint of a strong chemical odor in the area, and found ingredients used to manufacture meth in a common porch area. They investigated over the past week, and on Friday, two people were arrested.

John Rosen, 43, and Renee Perfetti, 44, are both charged with third degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

On Friday night, crews were called to a possible house fire on Maple Avenue. When firefighters went inside, they smelled a strong chemical odor and found meth ingredients. Police secured the scene, and are still investigating.

They said persons of interest are being detained, and arrested are pending in the case.
