Although we're more than a thousand miles away from Moore, Oklahoma, area churches are working together to help victims of Monday's tornado. They're raising money and plan to travel there to aid in the relief efforts. Our Iris St. Meran visited one of the churches and as she tells us, members have taken similar journeys to help others.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood made his third trip to the North Country Thursday, speaking on the importance of the St. Lawrence Seaway. As LaHood prepares to leave office, he had some parting words for the employees of the seaway. Barry Wygel has the story.

As we get ready to honor fallen soldiers this weekend, one North Country school is hoping actions speak louder than words when it comes to teaching students the true meaning of Memorial Day. Teachers from all the Carthage schools covered the high school's front yard with hundreds of American flags. As our Brian Dwyer tells us, it's a way to show military students that their teachers are behind them.

An Ogdensburg police officer arrested earlier this week was arraigned Wednesday. Canton Police say he tried to get into a house he mistakenly thought was his own. But the woman who lives there says mistake or not, the incident has left her fearful. Our Barry Wygel spoke with her.

The fate of one North Country thrift shop is still up in the air. Owners of Hearthstone Ministries Thrift Store were told they have to be out of their building by the end of May, but the reason for the eviction is still unclear.
