Massena gymnastics instructor arrested for sexual abuse
ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Massena gymnastics instructor is arrested on multiple charges of sexual abuse involving minors.

Daniel J. Zera, 47, was arrested Thursday. Zera's charges stem from an investigation into alleged incidents at his home involving two 13-year-old girls.

He faces two counts of sexual abuse, two counts of child endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.

Massena police began the investigation after receiving a complaint from one of the victim's parents.

"Through the course of this investigation we determined that there was alcohol provided to the minors, there was pornographic material available there also...and that there was inappropriate contact between the victim and the suspect," said Massena Police Chief Tim Currier.

Zera was jailed with bond set at $25,000. Our attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.
