Jefferson County field full of American flags
JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- A Jefferson County business is waiving the American flag proudly this weekend and it's all to raise money for a children's trauma charity.

The Backyard Farmer in Adams Center has a field filled with more than 2,000 American flags. The flags represent those who serve or have served our country and the community.

The public can sponsor a flag in memory of a loved one who's served. Each flag will be tagged and may be purchased after the event is over.

The exhibit is on display until Sunday and there's a daily program of readings, music and speakers.

"We've been getting a nice response. A lot of people have come down. A lot of people have inquired. They enjoy walking through the field, when it's not raining of course. That's what it's all about, it's about the community coming together," said T.R.A.C director Michael Bellone.

The proceeds of the event will go to the Trauma Response Assistance for Children Team. It helps empower children after things like natural disasters, violence and other traumatic events.
