ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. -- A friend of Wayne Oxley was back on the stand during Oxley's murder trial. Travis Howe continued his testimony Tuesday. Howe said he was with Oxley the night before the alleged murder.

Oxley is accused of beating Bernard Trickey, Jr. to death with a baseball bat in the summer of 2005.

During cross examination, the prosecution tried to poke holes in Howe's credibility, asking why his statement to police was different from his testimony.

This is Oxley's third trial. In the first, a conviction was overturned. The second trial ended in a hung jury.
