WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- Watertown's Parks and Recreation Department has appointed a new superintendent.
Erin Gardner, a graduate of South Jefferson Central School, will officially begin working this April. She comes to the position after working as an administrator at Bluefield Manor Housing Inc., a senior retirement community in Auburn.
City manager Mary Corriveau says Gardner brings the right character, work ethic and initiative to the position. She will lead a department that came under scrutiny last year for mishandled books and a lack of organization.
