JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- The president of the Jefferson County Deputy Sheriff Benevolent Association says an alleged harassing phone call made to the lawyer of a deputy suing the department is both morally reprehensible and criminal in nature.

Charu Narang is representing Deputy Krystal Rice in a $50 million sexual harassment suit against the Department, the Sheriff, a lieutenant and a detective, claiming topless photos she allowed to be taken of herself for an investigation were improperly stored on a computer that numerous people had access to and were never returned to her.

Narang says she got a phone call Thursday from someone claiming to be connected to the department demanding she drop the suit or she would get pulled over every time she drives and would have problems continuing to practice law.

The County Clerk's Office claims to have also received a similar call.

Benevolent Association President David Pustizzi issued a release saying the Association hopes the person or persons responsible for the alleged threats is found and prosecuted.
