Woman jailed after frying 12 pet goldfish to death

WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A Watertown woman is behind after she allegedly fried 12 pet goldfish in a pan, killing them.

Jessica Baughman, 21, is charged with a felony count of aggravated cruelty to animals, second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Police said they responded to a domestic dispute Friday when Baughman was arguing with her grandmother. When they arrived, her grandmother told the officers that Baughman took her gold fish from their tank, frying them to death the night before.

Baughman also allegedly pushed the woman several times and broke a statue of a wolf. She remains at the Jefferson County Jail on $1,000 cash bail and will appear in court April 24th.
