JEFFERSON COUNTY, N.Y. -- Hundreds of classic cars are on display in Clayton this weekend for the second annual Two Nations 1000 Island Extravaganza.
The Highway Legends organized this car cruise-in event in honor of the club's late founder Ron Mitchell. This show was Mitchell's dream and passion, bringing hundreds of car enthusiasts and their vehicles together for a friendly family event. Last year's event drew in more than 500 cars and this year the event seems to be growing by the hour.
Organizers said it's a show that would make Mitchell proud.
Rick Mentry, the Highway Legends President said, “He's smiling, he'd love it. And that's why we are here to do it for him."
Admission is free and all proceeds from this event are helping to benefit the Northern New York Autism Clinic in Black River. The show runs through this Sunday with a parade of cars through the village at 3 p.m.
