EVANS MILLS, N.Y. -- Fire damaged a home in the Village of Evans Mills. It happened on County Route 46.

Firefighters say two people were home at the time and noticed smoke in the attic. They called 911 and got out of the house.

Five fire departments responded and say the home has significant smoke and water damage.

The cause is under investigation.
