WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- A new city manager takes over in Watertown. The city council appointed Sharon Addison to the position at a special meeting Saturday morning.
Addison will start in her new role on July 16th under a two year contract. She's returning to the North Country from Maryland, where she worked as a division chief for the NSA.
Addison said though she hasn't worked in local government, she has the leadership and management experience the position requires.
Addison said, “I was a longshot, didn't have the municipalities background, but knew that I could take the knowledge and skills and apply them and be effective in this position."
Addison will earn $120,000 a year as city manager.
