Home sales rise in December, decline for 2009

Sales of existing single-family homes in New York climbed 21 percent between December 2008 and December 2009 to more than 7,100, according to the latest statistics from the New York State Association of Realtors (NYSAR).

Community Bank profit slips in 2009 Q4, full year

DeWITT - Community Bank System, Inc. (NYSE: CBU) earned $9.4 million in the fourth quarter, down nearly 22 percent from $12 million a year earlier. Earnings per share in the period totaled 28 cents, compared with 36 cents a share in the fourth quarter of 2008.
