CHARLOTTE -- A large crowd gathered outside Time Warner Cable Arena about an hour before former President Bill Clinton was scheduled to speak.
The Charlotte Fire Department said at one point the crowd inside had reached capacity. President Obama was inside the building at the time.
People with credentials were eager to get inside.
"I've been making phone calls. I'm disappointed, very frustrated," said Lisa Costello from Washington, D.C. "Can't believe they chose this place that doesn't have enough people."
Time Warner Cable Arena has a capacity of about 25,000 people.
