CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two official Democratic National Convention gift shops are open for business.

The grand opening was Wednesday afternoon. One store is located on South Tryon Street near Third Street and the other is located at the Charlotte Convention Center.

DNC spokesperson Suzi Emmerling says the buttons, hats, coffee mugs and shirts are all made in America, even in North Carolina.

“They used cotton grown in North Carolina and used sustainable ink to print it,” said Emmerling. “One of the shirts is 100 percent made shirt from North Carolina from design to production.”

The merchandise stores are the latest DNC additions to uptown Charlotte.

Work crews recently installed signs, built attractions, painted benches and hung banners.
