A new physical storefront is putting a fresh spin on the online shopping experience. YNN's Adam Balkin filed the following report.

eBay’s new “Inspiration Shop” puts a few new spins on window shopping. For instance, there's no actual store physically behind its windows. The other big difference between typical storefronts and the eBay Inspiration Shop is that customers can actually shop while browsing if they have smartphones.

“We're always about the philosophy that eBay is 24/7 shopping. You don't have to schlep around, you don't have to have people in stores pushing and shoving, don't have to walk around with ten million bags, so this is like shopping eBay but live,” said eBay’s Andrea Linett. “You need to have the eBay mobile app, you put the phone up to these codes, and you actually shop what's in the windows. So, you're window shopping but you’re actually purchasing, which is the ultimate window shopping experience.”

The windows are filled with items that fill out several celebrity's holiday wish lists, and because all of the products have accompanying QR codes, it’s not hard to imagine a day when pretty much all storefronts might look like the Inspiration Shop.

“I think people are probably going to copy us because it’s pretty awesome, and it was a pretty amazing idea, so yeah, it was easy,” said Linett.

YNN happened to catch up with someone outside of the shop who says he's in marketing retail. Though he’s not connected to this project, he agrees the concept could very well catch on.

“I think anytime you start a new direction in retail it may be a little confusing, but eBay being such a big name in selling, it may take off quite quickly. The idea of mixing brick and mortal with digital concepts is truly, I think, the wave of the future,” said the window shopper.
