BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y. -- Dozens of kids learned about life on the lake Friday. Our parent company, Time Warner Cable, partnered with the Say Yes to Education summer camp to provide boat tours through our Connect a Million Minds initiative.
They launched from Dutchman's Landing in Baldwinsville and made their way to Onondaga Lake. The goal was to open their minds to nature.
"For most of these kids, it's their first time on a boat or even on the water. So that is a very exciting experience. And then to see all the wild life that is out here it is really fun. And to notice and see what's around then to get exposed to what's out here," said Emma Anderson, an educator at Baltimore Woods Nature Center.
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN and we are committed to the Connect a Million Minds program, inspiring youth to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills. For more information on the initiative, go to connectamillionminds.com.
