Storms continue to work their way across the state. This evening the North Country is still getting pounded with rain and heavy winds. A tornado warning issued earlier for Franklin County has now passed, but there is still plenty of damage. Rachael Paradis has been storm chasing for us all day, but is happily taking cover now in the North Country bureau.

BRUSHTON, N.Y. -- The storms have not let up in Potsdam, but this isn't the only place experience rough conditions. The storm blew through the Village of Brushton and the Town of Moira early Wednesday afternoon, uprooting many trees and causing brush to fill the streets.

Many power lines were also down. Some trees were seen on homes and this pool was covered with a large tree from a backyard.

This driveway was blocked off when a tree came out of the ground across it. For locals who heard the tree fall, they say it gave them quite the scare.

"When it was raining so hard and I got the door and it sounded like a freight train and then I ran inside and looked out the window and I could see the tin flying off the roof and hailing real bad and I heard quite a crash. I come out and I see the trees laying out in the yard,” said William Dufrane, Village of Brushton resident.

Now depending on where you are, there are still thousands of people in the dark Wednesday night. National Grid says it does have crews out all over trying to restore service, but there is no timetable at this point as to when that will be.
