Waterfalls are cool! Really cool especially in the summer. Here are a few of my favorites!
*Stony Brook State Park in Dansville, N.Y. has 3 major waterfalls that create one of the most beautiful parks in Livingston County. 577 acres to explore and take in. $7 per car to enter the park.
*Taugannock Falls is actually higher than Niagara Falls! Find this beauty in Trumansburg, N.Y., just north of Ithaca on route 89, the west side of Cayuga Lake. There are 2 vantage points to see the falls. The first is from the 'falls overlook' exit from Rt. 89. The other is further on down the road into Taughannock Falls State Park.
*The American Falls in Niagara Falls is spectacular from one of the oldest parks in the U.S., Goat Island. Find the park from the Robert Moses Parkway off of I-190 in Niagara Falls. Cave of the Winds is the attraction here that takes you to the base of the falls with a guided tour along a series of wooden planks that take you up close! Hold on!

*Ithaca Falls in Ithaca, N.Y. is a very peaceful place to get away from it all, yet only a short walk from Lake Street in the city. The falls cascade over a sloping rock formation creating a continuous, mesmerizing sound. Free parking in the lot across the street!
