If you're in Palm Springs, California anytime soon, there's a botanical garden you have to make time to see! Established way back in 1938 by Chester Moorten, their son, Clark, now operates this beautiful oasis in the desert, Moorten Botanical Garden.

This collection of more than 3,000 desert plants and cacti can be enjoyed along a natural trail on your self-guided tour. There are many plants for sale, too! If you get the chance to speak with Clark, ask him about his 'Hollywood' connection! He and his dad worked for some of the greats, including Walt Disney!

Moorten Botanical Gardens: 1701 South Palm Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California.
(760) 327-6555. Open every day except Wednesdays, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
