August and September are great months to travel and if you're heading to Toronto, be sure to grab the ferry to Toronto Island Park!

From Harborfront, look for the ferry docks. Take the ferry to Centre Island to enjoy Centreville Amusement Park, open weekends only during the fall season from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Park admission is free. Ride tickets are 85 cents each with an average of three to four tickets per ride. There are all-day passes starting from $29.50 per person, cheaper for children under 4 feet tall.

Ferry ride admission is $6.50 adults, $4 under 19 and seniors over 65, under 14 $3. Under 2 free.

You'll want to leave the car behind. This is a walking island with bike rentals near the beach. Tram rides are available on the island to get a good overview of the area. There are a few restaurants on the island, one near the docks as you enter, one near the amusement park and one near the beach.

If you are planning on spending the night in Toronto, there are many hotels to choose from including the Metropolitan Hotel, 108 Chestnut St. in downtown Toronto.
