Walt Disney World is showing off some of its newest resort options for guests.
Of the 24 Disney owned and operated resorts, the Contemporary is a favorite with families because it is one of four properties with the added convenience of having the monorail riding right through the lobby.
The Contemporary is now attached by an elevated walkway to the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort, Disney’s Bay Lake Tower, with layouts that sleep from four to nine people.
The Vacation Club concept is designed for Disney guests who want to buy into the Disney experience.
"The Disney Vacation Club has ramped up [a huge amount] in the past year, with four properties," says Kim Marinaccio, the general manager at Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Travelers don't have to be Vacation Club members to books hotel rooms. For instance, a family can stay in the new African-inspired villas at Kidani Village, located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, for rates between $275 to $2,260 a night.
Another resort that has branched off under the vacation club canopy are the Treehouse Villas at Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. Recently renovated, they can accommodate a family of nine for $650 a night.
One-third of Disney’s 8,000 hotel rooms fall into the value category. At Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, visitors can pitch a tent for as low as $44 a night or stay in one of the newly-renovated cabins, starting at $270 a night.
Another option for families on a budget are the All-Star resorts that feature one-bedroom studios starting at $89 a night. Newly-configured family suites at the All-Star resorts can sleep up to seven people for as low as $190 a night.
