SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- It was green thinking at the Oncenter Friday. The eighth annual Green Building Conference is underway and it features experts on home design, sustainability and workplace safety.
One of the headliners of the conference is bestselling Author Sarah Susanka who is leading a movement to redefine the American home and lifestyle. She says people need to get away from traditional thinking when building a home and that means only build what you need.
"A lot of people don't think that that's a green act, but it really is when you think about the amount of resources that we put into square footages that we don't use. It's crazy. We don't have to heat it, we don't have to cool it," Susanka said.
Experts say the overall green building market is likely to double by 2013.
