SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Eastwood American Legion opened its doors to the public on Sunday for a look at some of the coolest model trains you'll find anywhere. The Model Railroad Open House and Train Meet has been going on for 28 years. It features a whole floor of intricate displays, including one made entirely out of Legos.
Organizers say this year they made some upgrades and the trains are now high tech.
"We've done a tremendous amount of revamping. Like we now have track detection which means we can tell where an engine or a train is on the layout, and we can run it by computer even," explained Jim Beach, President of Syracuse Model Railroad Club.
Organizers expected more than 500 visitors during the one day event.
