CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. -- It's been one year since a Florida woman with ties to Elmira disappeared.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Department held a news conference in Florida Monday on the anniversary of Kelly Rothwell's disappearance.
They revealed new information about her disappearance and her boyfriend, David Perry, who's from Elmira and was named a suspect in the case last year.
Authorities said they searched and analyzed Perry's car. They said it smelled of cleaning agents but they were not able to find any DNA.
Rothwell's friend Donna also said she received text messages from Kelly's phone the night she disappeared but they were clearly not sent by Rothwell, who was a police cadet. Authorities also said they found Rothwell's police academy books in the dumpster by her home.
Bob Gualtieri, Pinellas County Sheriff said, “It's an extremely frustrating case because of the very limited, narrow physical evidence that we have, the lack of information as to what happened on that Saturday afternoon in that apartment in Indian Rocks Beach and Perry's absolute refusal to cooperate with investigators."
The Sheriff's Office also upped the reward for anyone who knows her whereabouts. It now stands at $50,000.
