JENKINTOWN, PA -- A Corning man wanted in connection with a homicide in Pennsylvania died when he ran from police and jumped in front of a moving train.
Late Friday night, State Police said Daniel Bennett, 31, was killed in his home in the Town of Dix. The investigation led police to Thomas Borden, 32, of Corning. Believeing he may be connected to the crime, authorities issued a violent felony warrant for Borden's arrest.
Monday morning, the Schuyler County Sheriff's Department and State Police went to Pennsylvania and found Borden, who then led them on a car chase outside Philadelphia. He eventually fled on foot.
When police caught up with him around 10:30, they said Borden jumped in front of a commuter train and died from his injuries.
The investigations continue into both deaths.
