ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- More than a hundred people hit the links at the Pompey Club Monday to help build future leaders for the Central New York region.
The fundraiser goes toward scholarships for the next class of professionals to participate in the Leadership Greater Syracuse program.
The goal of LGS is to recruit, equip, engage and unite present and future leaders of all ages and experiences committed to making a difference in their communities. And funds raised at the golf tournament Monday help pay tuition costs for some of the wide variety of people who will make up the next class of leaders.
“Truly we look for people who are passionate about the community. People who want to help us advance it, move it forward, to get involved, to serve on our non-profit boards. But also to help with different fundraisers, races, whatever we can do together as a community. The more people involved, the stronger the community becomes,” Leadership Greater Syracuse CEO Sherry Mossotti said.
The golf tournament was expected to raise about $12,000 for the LGS Scholarship Fund.
