UTICA, N.Y. -- It was a washout on Saturday morning for the Boilermaker's annual three mile walk. The threat of rain and lightning prompted officials to cancel the event. Organizers said they are considering whether to refund participants, give them free entry for next year, or to just reschedule the walk. They will meet after tomorrow's race to make a decision.
Meanwhile, there is still plenty of pre-race excitement going on at the Health and Fitness Expo. The two day event is expected to draw about 50,000 people to the Mohawk Valley Community College campus. The expo continues on Saturday until 4:30 p.m. The Boilermaker Race kicks off on Sunday morning.
