EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Syracuse University football team has gotten off to a slow start in each of its first two games, but head coach Doug Marrone believes increasing confidence and comfort with their plays will soon turn that around.
Despite an 0-2 start the Orange has shown a lot of positives that have the team hopeful of racking up wins going forward. That belief is also held by a couple of alumni who were on hand for the USC game at MetLife Stadium: former receiver David Tyree and Joe Morris, still the program's all-time leader in rushing yards. The duo was part of the pregame coin flip and say Marrone is the right man to lead SU and he is building the right foundation for success.
Syracuse next plays Stony Brook, ranked No. 17 in the Football Championship Subdivision, Saturday at the Carrier Dome.
