ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- For the second time this year, health officials are seeing an increase in the number of shigellosis cases. The Onondaga County Health Department says they've now seen almost 120 confirmed and 50 probable cases of shigellosis.
The gastro-intestinal illness is the result of a bacterial infection. Health experts say the best way to stop it from spreading is proper hygiene.
