OSWEGO COUNTY, N.Y. -- Following reports of the EEE virus and the West Nile Virus in mosquito pools, aerial spraying is scheduled for Oswego County.
The spraying is scheduled for Saturday after 7 p.m. and will cover nearly 10,000 acres of land from Big Bay and Toad Harbor swamps, to the north shore of Oneida Lake.
Health officials are encouraging residents in the area to use caution during the spraying. They suggest keeping yourself and your pets inside, as well as keeping your windows and doors closed for one hour after spraying is complete.
They also suggest to close any vents or window air conditioners, and bring any outdoor toys or furniture inside. Lastly, if you have a vegetable garden, anything should be thoroughly rinsed before cooking or eating.
