ENDICOTT, N.Y. -- A woman from Virginia has filed a lawsuit over the helicopter crash that killed her three-year-old son and four other people in Pennsylvania in July.
Crystal McKain is suing Hampton Road Charter Service in a wrongful death lawsuit. She said they negligently and recklessly allowed David Jenny to fly, even though he was not fully trained.
According to federal investigators, Jenny was not certified to fly instrument only flights. They also said he did not receive a weather briefing before taking off from Endicott.
Carl Robert, the boy's father, was also killed in the crash. McKain is suing for more than $550,000 in damages.
