CORNING, N.Y. -- While State Police try to bring an armed and dangerous suspect to justice, an arrest was made in connection to the case.
According to investigators, Robert Rouille, 33, is wanted for an attempted armed robbery in Southport Thursday.
State Police say Rouille ran away from them on Saturday after a traffic stop in South Corning. Residents in the area were alerted by 911 dispatchers to keep windows and doors locked.
Investigators believe he is no longer in that neighborhood.
The woman who was driving the car with Rouille inside has now been arrested. Troopers say Tanya Buchanan had heroin and cocaine in the vehicle. She has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
State Police are continuing their search for Rouille.
As the case drags on, the number of counts that Rouille might face could grow.
"There possibly could be additional charges related to Mr. Rouille fleeing the traffic stop initiated by the New York State Police in the City of Corning. We're interested in talking to him about items that were found in the car and the fact that he flied off," said New York State Police Investigator Joseph Kelly.
Troopers are now working with the Chemung County Sheriff's department following leads in the case.
If you see Robert Rouille, investigators say you should immediately call 911.
